The university where he has been teaching since 1990 is the same one where he graduated in Aeronautical Engineering. During his academic career he has held the position of professor at the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering and Vehicle Engineering. He currently carries out his research and teaching activities at the Department of Aerospace Engineering.
Within the University of Pisa he is also director of the master in “Yacht Engineering” and member of the doctoral council of the department to which he belongs. Among the courses he teaches are Aerodynamics of Aircraft, Aerodynamics of Vehicle and Fluid Dynamics.[/vc_column_text][dfd_spacer screen_wide_spacer_size="30" screen_normal_resolution="1024" screen_tablet_resolution="800" screen_mobile_resolution="480" tutorials=""][dfd_heading subtitle="" content_alignment="text-left" enable_delimiter="" tutorials="" undefined="" title_font_options="tag:h2" subtitle_font_options="tag:div"]Collaborations with projects outside Pisa too[/dfd_heading][dfd_spacer screen_wide_spacer_size="30" screen_normal_resolution="1024" screen_tablet_resolution="800" screen_mobile_resolution="480" tutorials=""][vc_column_text]In addition to the courses held at the University of Pisa, he has held and holds lectures also in other faculties, including the courses of Aerodynamics Experis (Maranello) and Maserati-Alfa Romeo (Modena). His work in fact does not stop only at the University of Pisa, but concern both external projects and collaborations between Unipi and international organizations. Author of more than 120 scientific publications and 90 technical reports, he is also reviewer for several international journals.
Giovanni Lombardi is the responsible of a collaboration of the Department of Aerospace Engineering of Pisa with the CSIR (Council for Scientific and Industrial Research) of Pretoria (Republic of South Africa). In this context different researches activities have been developed. His research and studies, especially in the field of Aerodynamics, have contributed to making the University of Pisa famous all over the world. However, he still has a lot to give, both in the field of research and teaching. We are sure that we will hear about him for a long time, and he will continue to make his research known with new publications.
