But only recently has this movement reached out to Catholic investors, so much so that they founded the Catholic Impact Investive Collaborative (CIIC), an international coalition of more than 40 Catholic organizations pursuing positive social impact. CIIC was established in November 2014. An “informal” space where people can meet, share a meal and stories, and build relationships based on their spiritual and financial commitment to impact investing. What began as a small group of concerned individuals has now grown into a community of stakeholders, investors and faith-based groups. Together, they are catalyzing new resources to empower those in need and take action to create a better and sustainable world.

CIIC’s mission is to support Catholic institutions by creating a community within which to share resources, connections and learning about Catholic impact investing. In October 2019, it launched the Catholic Impact Investing Pledge, which is committed to furthering this initiative given the pressing need for action on environmental and social justice issues.
